Happy Birthday EatMore Drinkmore!
The picture above is one I took at the Ferry Building in San Francisco, and it was the first post made on EatMore DrinkMore back when we were a simple Tumblr blog whose readership included the few bloggers on EatMore DrinkMore and their respective spouses. Well, needless to say, we’ve grown a little bit in the past year and it’s been a blast. EatMore DrinkMore has always been a team blog. Some of our team members have moved on, and we were lucky to have them while we did but the door is always open and if you lean on them a bit maybe they’ll write for us again.
We have a great core group of writers right now on EatMore DrinkMore, and I couldn’t be more thankful for all of the hard work that Jenna and Britt have put into making EatMore DrinkMore a great site. In the past year we have churned out 389 posts, sent 1,180 updates to our 1,000 Twitter followers (a hell of a lot more tweets if you follow Jenna @jigolden), developed travel guides to our favorite destinations, written over 50 restaurant reviews, met a bunch of chefs, made a lot of great food, ate a lot of great food, and most importantly connected with tens of thousands of readers from all over the world (well…mostly DC)
In celebration of our BIRTHDAY, we’re giving away a whole bunch of gift cards to What’s the Deal. All you need to do is leave a comment or send a tweet letting us know your favorite recipe, post, review, feature, whatever from the past year on EatMore DrinkMore and you’ll be entered to win. Sound good? I thought so.
Special thanks to (in no particular order): Ilyssa, Britt, Jenna, Missy, Adam, Angela, Anna, Lindsey, Rob from What’s the Deal, Jeff from Palena, Zero, Sarah, Brian, Laura, Lucy, Booze, Chuck & Megan from That’s What She Fed, Amanda from Metrocurean, Lori from the Washington Post, Natasha from TBD.com, Heather & Lindley, the team at Simone Sez, all the chefs that participated in BLD in DC, DC Blogs, ArlNow.com, DonRockwell.com, The Hoya, Brightest Young Things, Olga from Mango Tomato & the EM DM Blogger Families.

I absolutely loved the http://eatmoredrinkmore.com/2010/08/30/rosemary-dinner-rolls/!! They were amazing and quite simple. They paired perfectly with the mashed potatoes and seitan I had for dinner that night. I will make again! Thanks for a great year!
I’ve made the Pasta with Asparagus and Goat Cheese a number of times. Delicious!
I thoroughly enjoyed your review of Velocity 5. It was spot on.
Loved the Chili Garlic Lump Crab dip recipe you guys posted. Amazing.
I loved the Lamb Burgers from last spring. Delicious and easy to make!

I’ll have to go with the patatas bravas, though really they just made me want to try Jose Andres’ version.
My favorite contribution that EM DM has made to my culinary life was the introduction of Thomas Keller’s amazing cookbook Ad Hoc at Home. After drooling over EM DM’s extensive Ad Hoc posts, my girlfriend suggested that her mom buy it for me for Christmas. We use it all the time. I just hope that Mr. Keller does not stumble upon the blog and see that half of his cookbook is digitally represented on EM DM.
My favorite article was That’s What She Fed go to minibar mainly because I went to minibar.

Congrats on the one year, glad I could be there at the beginning. Remember the small people when the blog gets turned into a cheesy romantic comedy.
I love your restaurant news updates. I honestly don’t know how you keep up with it all, it seems like you cover DC and the close in suburbs better than any of my other sources. I love knowing about new restaurants to tell my friends about and EMDM helps me to always be “in the know.” So Thanks!
Happy Birthday!!
I loved the review of Chicago restaurants. It reconfirmed my desire to make a trip soon!
I liked your post listing new years traditions.
I love all the restaurant reviews, especially since I live in Arlington, it’s nice to have a focus on those places, not just the usual DC restaurant reviews. Great blog! Happy Bday!
Loved the easy to make dessert your made for the after Thanksgiving weekend dinner feast. Chocolate pudding and strawberries. My guests loved it when I served it during the Christmas festivities.

Thanks Martha. Glad you liked the dessert. You Won credit to What’s the Deal!
Glad you made it to the one year mark. I wanted to find out the outcome of growing mushrooms that you wrote about in January. I tried this method several years back. It did not work out to well. I remember getting about 10 mushrooms. A lot of work for just ten mushrooms.
How did you do?
