Eat More LAMB: Greek Easter at Zaytinya

Lamb Shoulder Arnopitta at Zaytinya
Last week I had the pleasure of tasting the full gamut of Greek Easter Lamb dishes at Zaytinya and it was lamb-y and delicious! The meal was 12 courses including dessert so I’ll give you a rundown of my favorites. No one does lamb better than the Greeks so make sure you head over to Zaytinya to sample this special menu available from April 24- May 8.
The Clean Monday: This mint infused gin drink was not only crisp and refreshing but it was beautiful! Each drink was served in a tall slim glass with a mandolined cucumber slice wrapped inside. Bonus, they infuse all of their liquors there so it was perfectly minty and well, clean!
Lamb Dishes
Arnopitta: Braised lamb shoulder and sweetbreads with almonds and golden raisins wrapped in phyllo.
Arni me Mastica: This lamb belly was so decadent and perfectly caramelized with Mavrodaphne syrup and preserved meyer lemon.
Arnaki me Sparangia: I’m such a sucker for lamb shoulder and this was cooked perfectly and fell apart with one touch of my fork. Served with asparagus and dill.
Arnaki me Aginares: Lamb leg steak served with artichokes, feta and ladolemono added zest to the dish
Vegetable dishes
Greek Easter Maroulosalata: Greens with mizithra cheese and ladolemono. Yes, the salad was a highlight. The pungent cheese was balanced perfectly with the lemon dressing.
Sparangia Salata: Pickled white asparagus served with green asparagus puree, pistachios and lemon. So simple but truly outstanding. Light, lemony and fresh.
If you like lamb or are interested in testing out more dishes this is the place to go. Hurry before Easter comes and goes!
