I’ve been out of town a lot lately, but I’ve also been doing my best to visit some of my favorite spots as well as the new ones as they pop up. Clockwise from the top left:
- Gnocchetti with kale pesto, walnuts, and taleggio at Ghibellina. Ghibellina is one of my new “go-to” spots, and they are now open on Mondays, as well as serving brunch on Saturdays & Sundays from 11AM-4PM.
- A beautiful selection of sashimi and nigiri from Zentan at the Donovan House Hotel. Chef Jennifer Nguyen came on board in April of 2013 and is doing wonderful things with the menu. I recently enjoyed a delicious meal including meats from the robata grill, hot plates such as braised pork belly and Peking chicken bao buns, and the sushi continues to impress.
- I normally am pretty down on Restaurant Week, but I had a lovely experience at Bibiana and greatly enjoyed Chef Nick Stefanelli’s rigatoni all norma with eggplant and ricotta salata. It was a simple and satisfying dish that makes me want to go back for more.
- I am totally digging The Red Hen in Bloomingdale, and I recently had a great seasonal dinner which included a bean salad and halibut with corn and squash. I loved this dish, and I also have greatly enjoyed many of their pasta dishes previously such as the rigatoni with fennel sausage.
Where are you eating these days? Happy weekend.
